Why this isn't your final quote

We can't give you a 100% exact number until your surgeon sees your case in your medical video consultation. Your final quote may move from this estimate based on additional studies your surgeon may need, your specific anatomy, or projected recovery time. Most patients land within 15% of what you're seeing here — we'd rather tell you that upfront than surprise you later.

About this procedure

What is Zygomatic All-on-4? A full-arch restoration for patients whose upper jaw has lost too much bone for standard implants. Instead of grafting, longer implants anchor into the dense zygomatic (cheek) bone, supporting a fixed prosthesis, often delivered the same day as surgery.

Who is it for? Patients with severe upper-jaw bone loss who have been told they need extensive bone grafting first, or who were turned down for standard All-on-4. It avoids months of grafting and a second surgery.

What is included in the Wellum package? Placement of zygomatic implants per arch, immediate-load fixed temporary prosthesis, all surgical fees, anesthesiologist-administered sedation, and the final permanent prosthesis at follow-up. Performed by a board-certified maxillofacial surgeon in a hospital surgical suite.

What does recovery look like? 5–7 nights recommended in Guadalajara. The same-day temporary prosthesis lets you eat soft foods within a few days. Final prosthesis placement happens 4–6 months later, coordinated remotely or with a return trip.

Common question (is this more complex than standard All-on-4? Yes. Zygomatic implants require advanced maxillofacial training and a hospital setting with an anesthesiologist. That is exactly how we run it) in an internationally accredited or nationally certified hospital, not a dental office.

Your recovery, day by day

This is what a typical patient experience looks like. Every case varies — your surgeon will adjust based on your progress.

Day / Phase What to expect
Day -1 Arrival Airport pickup, hotel check-in. CT imaging review, consultation, and surgical planning with your surgeon.
Day 0 Surgery day 3–5 hour placement of zygomatic implants (anchored in the cheekbone) under IV sedation or general anesthesia. Temporary fixed prosthesis placed same day.
Day 1 First post-op Bite and wound check. Swelling and mild bruising normal. Soft/liquid diet begins. Pain managed with oral medication.
Day 2–4 Early recovery Swelling peaks then eases. Soft diet continues. Gentle saltwater rinses. Comfortable for short outings.
Day 5–6 Wound check + fly home Follow-up with surgeon. Temporary prosthesis and bite verified. Cleared to fly home. Soft diet for several weeks.
Month 4–6 Return for final prosthesis Implants integrate with bone. Return visit (or coordinated locally) to place the permanent prosthesis.

Frequently asked questions about this procedure

Why are medical costs in Mexico so much lower than in the US or Canada?

Lower price does not mean lower quality. Three structural factors explain the difference:

  1. Currency and cost of living: Surgeon salaries, hospital staff, and operating costs in Mexico are denominated in pesos, which are structurally lower than US/Canadian wages — the same surgical hour costs less to produce.
  2. No insurance overhead: Mexican healthcare doesn't carry the administrative cost of US private insurance billing, malpractice insurance premiums, or hospital network markups, which together can represent 30–50% of US procedure prices.
  3. Direct surgeon-patient pricing: Our partner surgeons set transparent flat fees with no third-party intermediary inflating the cost.

The technology, surgical technique, and hospital infrastructure are equivalent — many of our surgeons trained in the US, Brazil, or Europe and use the same FDA-approved devices and implants used at home.

What is included in the Wellum package price?

Every Wellum quote is fully transparent. A typical package includes:

  • Surgeon's professional fee (board-certified specialist)
  • Anesthesiologist's fee
  • Operating room and hospital stay at an internationally accredited or nationally certified hospital with on-site ICU
  • Implants, medications, and surgical supplies
  • Recovery hotel or recovery house for the recommended stay
  • Airport pickup and ground transportation in Guadalajara
  • Bilingual Wellum coordinator (24/7 during your stay)
  • Pre-op studies and lab work
  • Post-op clinical visits with your surgeon before flying home
  • 12 weeks of post-op follow-up care from the Wellum team

What's not included by default: airfare, optional excursions, additional procedures not in the original quote. These are clearly itemized so there are no surprises.

Does the price include follow-up?

Yes. The 12 weeks of post-op care from the Wellum team and weekly video check-ins with your surgeon are included in every package. The exact scope is documented in your quote before you commit.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept wire transfer and major debit/credit cards through a secure payment processor. Monthly payment plans via medical financing partners are coming soon — ask your coordinator for the latest options during your free consultation.

How does payment actually work? Wire, card, deposit timing?

We make payment as straightforward as possible for international patients:

Booking deposit (refundable): A small deposit holds your surgery date and surgeon's calendar slot. Payable by credit card via our US-registered payment processor (Stripe). Fully refundable up to 30 days before surgery, partially refundable within 30 days based on costs already committed to your case.

Balance payment options:

  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via secure Stripe processing — most common, instant, US-issuer-friendly
  • Wire transfer to our US entity (Medismart LLC) — for amounts where credit limits are an issue
  • Hybrid — deposit by card, balance by wire — patient choice

Timing:

  • Deposit at booking
  • 50% of remaining balance 7 days before travel
  • Final balance settled in person at the hospital before discharge

Why a US entity matters for US patients: Charges appear on your statement as a US merchant, not a Mexican one. Reduces fraud-flag risk with your bank, simplifies dispute resolution, and gives you US consumer protection on credit card transactions.
